A tailored protection plan for worry-free rentals
LOU-PROTEC is an innovative protection plan, specially designed to offer complete and simplified coverage to our customers who rent equipment from LOU-TEC.
Adequate protection minimizes the consumer’s liability. It also ensures financial security and peace of mind in the event of a problem. The LOU-PROTEC program is not insurance, but a service designed to offer specific and simplified coverage for your rental equipment. Protection such as LOU-PROTEC contributes to risk management and reduction and avoids considerable expenses for our customers in the event of equipment damage.
Damages covered by the LOU-PROTEC protection plan:
- Fire
- Theft
- Vandalism
- Mechanical breakdowns
Damages not included in the LOU-PROTEC protection plan:
- Incidents due to customer misuse or negligence
- Theft of accessories
- Damage to tires, tubes, tracks, windows, lights and cleaning costs
In case of damage, LOU-PROTEC covers 90% of the costs. The customer only pays 10% of the repair costs or the replacement value of the equipment. The protection plan fee is 14.5% of the rental cost.

ENTREPRENEUR CLIENTS
You are automatically covered by the LOU-PROTEC protection plan.
If you do not wish to subscribe to the LOU-PROTEC Protection Plan, you must provide proof of valid insurance covering the replacement value of the rented equipment, before receiving the equipment to while respecting the following criterias:
- Insured entity (name and address) which must be the same name as the customer who will be doing the rentals.
- The name of the Insurer and the start and expiration dates of the current policy.
- General liability: minimum $1,000,000 per occurrence for bodily injury and property damage.
- Contractor equipment rental coverage: replacement value of the rental equipment, without deduction for depreciation.
- GROUPE LOU-TEC INC. must be named as an “Additional insured” as a “Loss payee” in the event of loss of rental equipment.
In addition, you must ensure that you maintain valid insurance throughout your rental activities with LOU-TEC.
PRIVATE CUSTOMERS
- Automatically covered by the LOU-PROTEC protection plan.
- Amount included on all rental invoices
NOTIFICATION OF DAMAGES OR LOSS
The customer must:
- Notify LOU-TEC of any damage or loss to the rental equipment within 24 hours of the incident.
- Immediately report to the police authorities.
- Provide LOU-TEC with the police file number for the event.
